New Recipe: Beef Braised in a Red Wine Sauce

The latest mouth-watering, JB-approved Gourmet Nutrition recipe is now online! This time it's a beef dish roasted in delicious red wine sauce.

As I've said, you can have a good-looking body AND enjoy great tasting meals, just like this one. But if you want to get lean and muscular the right way, you'll need real examples of how to do it. Hey, I'm a bit biased, but frankly the best way to do that is to download a copy of the Gourmet Nutrition ebook.

The Gourmet Nutrition Report, Vol. 1

Good news for newsletter subscribers. In support of our new e-book, Gourmet Nutrition, and in an effort to dispel the myth that great nutrition means bland, boring food, John Williams and I have put together a new feature called the Gourmet Nutrition Report, a bi-weekly dose of new recipes, cooking tips and food facts. Current subscribers will get this automatically -- no need to sign up again. But if you haven't yet subscribed, you can sign up here.

Volume 1 includes a brand new recipe, one of the best yet from the Gourmet Nutrition kitchen: Pan-seared salmon with a citrus mint sauce.

The Super Shake recipe

A few people have asked how I use Greens+. As I said, I put a serving in every protein shake I drink, which unless I'm travelling or in a serious hurry is no more than one per day. I call it the Super Shake (creative, no?) because its a true meal replacement. The ingredients are simple:
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 tbsp cottage cheese or yogurt
  • 1 serving Greens+
  • 2 scoops Biotest Low Carb Grow
  • 1/2 cup frozen berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 3 tbsp ground flax seeds
  • 3 tbsp mixed nuts
Take 3 caps of fish oil with it and you've got yourself a meal on the go. Of course, for more meal ideas, including more shake recipes and some of the best tasting healthy snacks you'll ever taste, check out Gourmet Nutrition.

Greens+ added to supplement recommendations

Long time readers of this site know that I have a pretty conservative supplementation philosophy. You can read the long version by clicking on the link above; the short version is that apart from protein supplements, recovery drinks, essential fatty acids and maybe green tea, I use very few supplements on a regular basis. But one product I've been using regularly for some time now is Greens+. Though I've mentioned it in my seminars and workshops, I never got around to putting it on my supplement recommendations page. Well, I've just updated that page today, and here is my review:

"Greens+ is a product that deserves special mention. The reality is that probably 99% of us don't get enough veggies in our diets. I shouldn't have to repeat that this is a huge problem, but I do, both to readers and clients. Greens+, a blend of antioxidants, enzymes, phytonutrients, vitamins and minerals, can help in this regard. Can it replace adequate intake of fruits and vegetables? Absolutely not. But this is one area in which you can and should supplement. A serving of Greens+ should be in every protein shake you drink. Along with Low Carb Grow, Surge and some essential fatty acid supplements, it's one of the only supplements I use regularly."

I highly recommend you pick some up today (it can be found at any decent supplement retailer). To find out more, check out the Greens+ website.
