Coaching Interviews:
Nichole Stallcup
Nichole
Stallcup is a relatively new client of ours. She’s 32 and works
in the specialty advertising industry. Let’s hear what she has
to say about our coaching system.
Dr Berardi:
As a new client, Nichole, your initiation to our program is probably
still fresh in your mind. What was the biggest challenge in your mind
with respect to getting started?
Nichole:
The biggest reservation was the cost. I had to be sure that I would
stay committed to this and work just as hard as I could otherwise I
was just throwing a lot of money down the drain.
Dr Berardi:
So what convinced you to go for it?
Nichole:
I had done a lot of “research” trying to find an online
coaching program and the biggest selling point of your program was that
it was “interactive”. I can contact you with any questions
at all and the programs you design are individual. I found so many sites
that sold programs and nutrition guidelines but didn’t customize
them to my individual needs and goals.
Dr Berardi:
And have you found the program satisfactory?
Nichole:
That’s an understatement! Before working with you I had been exercising
for 5 years with little progress. I just stayed the same for years and
years. I considered hiring a trainer but there was very little to choose
from in our town.
Dr Berardi:
Many people think they’ll prefer a trainer to a distance-based
coach. What do you think?
Nichole:
I knew that if I had the right program and good nutrition guidelines
that I would achieve great results. I don’t have a problem motivating
myself I just always lacked the proper structure. Now that I have done
the program I find that just the fact that I have to measure and give
bi-weekly updates to be all the motivation I need. I would hate to for
you to think I was slacking!!
Dr Berardi:
So let’s talk results.
Nichole:
In just a few weeks, I’ve gone from 5’9.5”, 156 lbs
and 24% body fat to 151 lbs and 20% body fat. That’s an increase
of 5 lbs of lean mass while a loss of 6 lbs of fat mass.
Dr Berardi:
With more to come!
Nichole:
Yep! And let me tell you that I can’t wait. I love the workouts.
I absolutely love them. They are so challenging and different from what
I was used to doing. Your exercise links are very easy to understand
and every question that I have asked has been answered quickly and thoroughly.
Dr Berardi:
What other improvements have you seen while working with us?
Nichole:
There is so much that has improved. My skin is clear, I sleep like a
baby and I even have a lot less trouble with allergies (which I think
were mostly food related). I have started running faster and am getting
stronger and stronger. I feel also like my mood is so stable. I guess
the best way to sum it up really is that I just feel like my whole body
just “works” better.
Dr Berardi:
Have people noticed your body changing? How have they responded?
Nichole:
I have been getting lots of comments in the gym. People are constantly
asking me what I eat and where I get my workouts from and how do I find
the energy to workout as hard as I do. My husband has also noticed a
big change. My back and shoulders are probably where I have noticed
the biggest change so far. He is amazed at how motivated I have stayed
with this program.
Dr Berardi:
What are the top things you learned while following our program?
Nichole:
1) I wasn’t eating enough
2) I wasn’t eating enough of the right foods
3) Carbohydrates are not bad
4) I don’t have to be hungry to lose fat
5) I wasn’t lifting heavy enough weight
6) I was spending way too much time on the cardio machines
7) If I am getting the proper nutrition throughout the day I don’t
crave bad foods
8) I wasn’t changing my workout often enough
9) You can get a complete productive workout done in 1 hour (I was spending
way to much time “chatting”)
10) Oh and probably the biggest for me; I can live HAPPILY without DIET
COKE!!!
Dr Berardi:
Describe your total coaching experience to date.
Nichole:
It is exactly the structure and support I needed to get in the best
shape of my life.
Dr Berardi:
If someone was hesitant about working with us, what advice would you
give them?
Nichole:
For me personally I thought about how much money I had spent over the
last five years on weight loss supplements, diet and workout books and
my gym membership and I was not in good shape and still just spinning
my wheels. The cost of your program didn’t even come close to
a 10th of that and I have achieved such great results in such a short
time.
Dr Berardi:
What’s the next step for you with your physique progress?
Nichole:
I just want to keep going in the direction I am in. More fat loss, put
on more lean muscle mass and keep getting stronger. I also hope to start
training for a half marathon in the spring.
Dr Berardi:
Any parting words?
Nichole:
Fitness has become one of the most important things in my life and I
owe a lot of that to your coaching program. Thank you!
