Kirsten Grove
Kirsten
Grove is a 39 year old chiropractor who had been exercising for years
before deciding to seek out the help of my coaching team. In just a
few months she’s lost 25 lbs and 17% body fat. Read on to find
out how.
Dr Berardi:
Kirsten, before you started coaching with the Science Link Team, how
long had you been exercising?
Kirsten:
Years
Dr Berardi:
How much physique and performance progress had you made during this
time?
Kirsten:
Not much – I had been training a lot on my own and could not get
my weight or physique to change much
Dr Berardi:
Did you ever use a personal trainer or nutrition coach in the past?
Kirsten:
Yes I have used a personal trainer for a few years.
Dr Berardi:
What kind of results did you get?
Kirsten:
I had some changes in strength but not much change in physique or body
fat.
Dr Berardi:
What convinced you to coach with us?
Kirsten:
I had been following your work for a few years, felt your work was cutting
edge, and figured that working with you was worth trying.
Dr Berardi:
So was it worth it?
Kirsten:
I had tried so many different training/nutrition plans, I was skeptical
that this would help me that much. But one look at my results and I
don’t think you’ll even need to hear the answer.
I started out at 200 lbs and 39% body fat, also suffering significant
loss of strength in the left arm due to a previous injury. Now Im 175
lbs and 22% body fat.
In addition, my arms are equal in strength now, my energy levels are
better now, and my sugar cravings are now non-existent.
Dr Berardi:
Many people looking into this program wonder whether the distance-based
nature of it can work for them. What do you think of this?
Kirsten:
The distance was not a problem for me at all. In fact it works better
with my schedule. If I have a question, I send out an email and the
team gets back with me quickly.
Dr Berardi:
While following the program, what did you like best?
Kirsten:
I like that it combines the nutrition with the training. Everything
is all in one. Plus I like the links for the exercises that are included.
Dr Berardi:
Did you find the program hard to follow? Why or why not?
Kirsten:
Initially, the amount of prep/measuring seemed daunting, but after awhile
it got easier. Now it’s second nature.
Dr Berardi:
Have people noticed your body changing? How have they responded?
Kirsten:
A lot of people have noticed my body changing. After all, I lost 25lbs
and a lot of body fat. People keep commenting on how much weight I have
lost and are asking me what I am doing to make a change.
Dr Berardi:
What are the top 10 things you learned while following our program?
Kirsten:
1. To eat more consistently
2. To eat more frequently
3. To eat more food
4. My sugar cravings are non-existent as long as I follow my nutrition
plan.
5. How to eat healthy whether I am on vacation, parties, restaurants
etc…
6. To keep my focus on the “lifestyle change” and not so
much on the # on the scale.
7. To stay consistent even if the changes seem small.
8. Keep my water intake up
9. How to train more effectively
10. Sprint work is very helpful
Dr Berardi:
Describe your total coaching experience to date.
Kirsten:
The experience has been a very positive one and I would encourage anyone
to try it. It is one of the only things that has helped me to reach
my health and fitness goals.
Dr Berardi:
If someone was hesitant about working with us, what advice would you
give them?
Kirsten:
I would encourage them to give it a try for 6 months and see how it
goes. Not to be discouraged by the initial prep time for the first 1-2
months.
Dr Berardi:
What’s the next step for you with your physique progress?
Kirsten:
To continue with you guys into the New Year – working on getting
my body fat down to the mid-teens.
